Solicitors, Accountants, Insurance Brokers, healthcare related professions, charities and consultants of all kinds are just some of the examples of occupations and industries that may require this cover.
Cover includes any negligent act, error or omission, unintentional infringement of intellectual property rights, loss of documents or data, unintentional libel, slander or defamation or unintentional breach of confidence or misuse of confidential information. Typically, professional Indemnity policies are on what is know as a ‘claims made basis’ meaning needs to be in place at the time of the claim being made against you rather than when the work was done.
The policy limit can be either per claim or aggregated per policy period.
